Etch Press with Print and Copper Plate

Additional Processes in Etching and Aquatint

A follow-on course to Techniques in Etching and Aquatint, although this can be studied without any pre-knowledge of the printmaking process. This course looks at some of the lesser-known techniques in the medium: soft-ground, lift-ground, drypoint and burnishing-back. All of these techniques can enable the artist to expand the range of effects that can be obtained through the etching process, greatly extending the range of imagery they can produce. This workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, although some experience of the basic etching and aquatint processes is an advantage,
